Extending Summer Break

Johns county school district is considering extending summer break this year, pushing back schools start date by 6 days. As of right now return to schools is set to be August 10^th, but Superintendent Tim Forson is debating making that date August 16^th. Forson said this date change would give more time to complete construction projects and give teachers a little breather. This date changing to August 16^th would also change the end of the school year from June 9^th to June 2^nd. Forson says he hopes to announce his decision soon so that everyone affected has time to plan accordingly.
