After the brutal heat of summer, chilly weather is finally approaching. The cold season is the perfect time to curl up on a couch with a blanket and watch your favorite movies.

A Charlie Brown Christmas 

This 1965 animated short has been a favorite ever since its release. Charlie Brown movies are the best thing to watch with family or friends on a cold night. Nease junior Jada Montesione said, “Charlie Brown movies always get me excited for fall and they put me in the holiday spirit.”  Available on Apple TV+

Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone

The first Harry Potter film is filled with warm colors, happy spirits, and of course, magic. The cozy setting of Hogwarts and the Christmas feast featured in this movie makes it great to watch with some friends and a cup of cocoa. Available on Amazon Prime Video and Peacock.

Dead Poets Society

Despite the heavy themes of this 1989 drama, the autumn setting of this movie is sure to make you feel warm and cozy. This tear-jerking film is great for people who love to curl up in bed and watch classic sad movies. Available on Hulu and Amazon Prime Video.

Little Women (2019)

This classic story about 4 sisters never fails to tug at your heart-strings and will definitely get you excited about winter. The New England cottage setting is beautiful and depicts fall and winter perfectly. Available on Amazon Prime Video and Hulu.

Home Alone

Kevin McCallister’s adventures have been a holiday favorite since 1990. This winter comedy is treasured by families everywhere and is sure to get you in the holiday spirit. Nease student Robert Caldwell loves Home Alone, “Home Alone is definitely my favorite winter holiday movie.” Available on Disney+.

An American Tail 

This movie shows the story of a young Russian mouse who is separated from his family while traveling to America, and has to navigate New York City by himself during wintertime. Although there are some deeper underlying themes present such as religious and cultural discrimination, this children’s film is a classic that will have you laughing, crying, and singing along to the great soundtrack.
