Pooches and People: A new dog park underway in St. Johns County

A new innovative dog park and food truck court is underway and should be expected to open in about a year. Unleashed: Bark & Brews will provide enjoyment for both pooches and people with many activities and events to participate in. This dog park is far from conventional, as it is planned to not only serve as a place for dogs to run, but also include workspaces, grooming stations, relaxing spaces with TVs, and even places for people to get food and beverages. Events such as movie nights and trivia nights will be held at the park for friends and families to get involved. The site is planned to be located on about 2.6 acres on U.s 1 North at Ronald Road. Dog owners will be assured a safe environment for their dogs with trained professionals and cleaning systems at the park site. The development team has announced that AstroTurf will be placed in the park in order to keep the park as clean as possible and will further include a filtration system to keep out waste. Also, trained “bark rangers” will monitor the park to ensure safe play amongst the dogs. Not only will the dog park include many fun activities for the community, but will also host adoption clinics in partnerships with nonprofits to bring home pets. With recent approvals from the St. Johns County government officials, the Bark & Brews dog park plan is becoming a reality.
