Hurricane Milton

Hurricane Milton

With wind speeds of 180 miles per hour, gusts up to 200 miles per hour, and potential for storm surge of 15 feet, there is little to no doubt Hurricane Milton will be one of the most devastating hurricanes to hit Florida in recorded history.

15 feet of storm surge in the Tampa Bay area has not been seen since 1848 (Tampa Historical Society), and Tampa has not been directly hit by a hurricane in over 100 years (PBS news). Millions of people in Tampa, St. Petersburg, Sarasota, and many other Western Florida coastal cities are under mandatory evacuation orders.

St. Johns County evacuation zones A, B, and F are currently under mandatory evacuation orders, as well as hurricane and flash flood warnings for the whole county. Hurricane Milton will certainly come with tornado watches and warnings all across Florida, and it is vital everybody stays up to date with these events.
