The Nease boys’ lacrosse team is on a roll this season, finishing the regular season with an impressive 11-5 record. The boys kicked off the District 2A tournament with a dominant 12-6 win over the Creekside Knights last night. Now, all eyes are on their next matchup as they take on longtime rivals, the Ponte Vedra sharks on Wednesday, April 16th at 7 p.m. in the den. The last time these two teams faced off was earlier this season, the Sharks came out on top with a 7-10 win. Senior midfielder Jackson Coughlin shared “We have been locked in all week and doing everything we can be ready. We know how much this game means, and we are coming in with something to prove.” If Nease pulls off the win, it would be the program’s first victory over Ponte Vedra since 2008. This game is not only a chance to bring home a district title, but also an opportunity to prove that Nease is ready to take the top spot from their biggest rivals.
