Caring for the Community with Beaches Go Green

Are you interested in learning how you can make Earth a cleaner and more sustainable place to live? Then Beaches Go Green is the right club for you! Beaches Go Green (BGG) is a nonprofit organization with one branch here at Nease and many others at several high schools. Nease BGG club “provides awareness and education around the waste that we produce and how it affects our planet – particularly  single-use items and plastic pollution in our oceans.”

This club organizes and offers a variety of events and activities for their members and the Nease community, like monthly beach clean-ups. In addition to providing fun opportunities, they support the Nease community by providing student athletes with reusable water bottles to cut down on the use of plastic water bottles and to keep them hydrated. Ari Powers, an officer of the club and the Reusable Water Bottle Coordinator, says that, “..people can get involved [in our club] by coming to our meetings in O111 once a month.” She also says that “it’s a great way to connect with peers while doing good for our planet.” You can get additional information about Nease BGG by going to @neasebeachesgogreen on Instagram or asking other club officers or Ms. Fagan, the club sponsor.
