Carson Wentz has been dealt to the Indianapolis Colts for a third round pick and a conditional second round pick. The trade marks the end of the Wentz era in Philadelphia which featured the MVP-like year of 2017 and the painful woes of the 2020 season. In his five years with the Eagles Wentz went 35-32 and threw for 113 touchdowns and 50 interceptions. At his highpoint with the Eagles Wentz was a MVP frontrunner and had the eagles at a 11-2 record. At his worst however he committed 25 turnovers in 12 games and was benched for rookie, Jalen Hurts. It should be noted that Wentz is being reunited with his former offensive coordinator, Frank Reich. It will be intriguing to see how well Wentz adapts to a new system and if he can turn his career around for the better. As for whether the Colts payed too much for Caron Wentz it’s too early to tell. If Reich and the Colts can rehabilitate Wentz back into his former MVP caliber state then the price was well worth it.
