ChatGPT Viral Malfunction
In today’s world, artificial intelligence like ChatGPT has quickly become used by teenagers all over the world. Many find ChatGPT as a new way for teenagers to approach learning and have better understanding of complex topics. Students that have trouble grasping what topics they are currently learning have ChatGPT to provide examples and create a new perspective. The software offers endless inspiration and ideas for those struggling with writing specifically. For instance, what to write about, how to get started on an essay, or even an example essay for further inspiration. As ChatGPT grows worldwide users, students learning capacity has increased for the better. However, recently as winter break is almost occurrent for students a viral sensation about ChatGPT has appeared. As finals and ending summatives were taking place, ChatGPT suddenly had a recent malfunction in the system. The whole AI system was unable to access for anyone to use. Videos on social media have gone viral in students complaining and in distress over the malfunction, because they were unable to access it during their tests, or any final assignments. This overnight phenomenon has made many question the dependency students tend to have on ChatGPT for school. Having too much reliability on AI has been a concern making students lose valuable skills needed for future use. Although assignments can be hard at times, it is when learning occurs, and we improve. To use ChatGPT effectively, teens should see it as a tool, rather than using it to do work for them. Let it help brainstorm ideas, or clarify concepts, but effort should be given in work that will help you improve. ChatGPT should only be used when necessary, and not for simple tasks that can get done yourself. By understanding the benefits and concerns of ChatGPT, students can learn the responsibility of using AI. This will ensure students will enhance their education, rather than undermine it.
