Close Call at Sawgrass Publix
In the afternoon of December 16, the Publix Grocery store in Sawgrass was evacuated due to a bomb threat. An initial search by the Saint Johns County Police Department found nothing, and the more thorough search made by the Explosives Unit and the bomb dogs resulted in an all clear. While the culprit is still unknown, the police are on the lookout for a suspect and keeping an eye on other local businesses. Other Publix stores have also experienced threats.
