First Friday Art Walk
On the first Friday of each month, artists have the opportunity to display and sell their art along the streets of historic downtown St. Augustine all the way to Anastasia Island. Artists are located in the art galleries throughout the city and also in the streets. This event is from 5pm-9pm and is free of cost. The art walk gives artists a chance to share their pieces while also spreading their name and work. It also gives the community a chance to see local art and ask any questions that they may have. There is a very wide variety of media to look at. “From contemporary to traditional and everything in between, pieces are created by local and national artists working in oils, pastels, photography, ceramics, wood, textiles and metal.” Mr. Smith, a ceramics teacher here at Nease High School will be displaying his own pottery on 134 Riberia St.
