Flipping and Stunting Their Way to Nationals!

This past weekend, the Nease Cheer team competed at the UCA (Universal Cheerleaders Association) Regionals in Daytona Beach against around 80 other teams. The team competed in two categories: Game Day and Varsity. Game Day showcases a team’s routine on the sidelines and how they engage the crowd and reflect school traditions. To demonstrate this, teams must perform a band chant, situational sideline, crowd leading, and a fight song. In the Game Day category, Nease Cheer placed 2nd out of 3! In the Varsity category, which refers to traditional cheerleading, the Panthers placed 12th out of 16. These scores gave the Panthers 2 bids to nationals as they scored high enough to get into the competition in Orlando. The UCA Nationals will be held on February 9-12, 2024, at the Walt Disney World Resort. We wish the Panthers the best of luck as they take on Nationals early next year!
