Hometown Professional Returns

A Nease High School graduate and golf returns to his hometown here in St. Augustine to play in one of the world’s most famous golf tournaments, The Players Championship (TPC). Tyler McCumber, turning professional in 2013, made the cut for his first ever TPC tournament this year. In his career he has played in many “smaller tour circuits” Being able to finish a great round in his hometown was special. “it is a different feeling to play in front of a home crowd, and it was amazing.” Says McCumber. His father, Mark, also played on the PGA tour and won here at the stadium course in 1988, he says “a proud father…I know how hard it is to do what these guys do…and everybody who comes here is impressive.”
