Nease 2025 NHS Induction Ceremony
By Lena Asadi
The National Honor Society (NHS) is a high school student led organization that recognizes students for their achievements in four pillars, including scholarship, character, leadership, and service. Nease High School has held an NHS chapter since the 1980’s. In order to apply for the National Honor Society you must be either a rising Junior or Senior. To be considered a member, students must have: (1) minimum weighted GPA of 3.75, (2) current enrollment in at least 2 higher level courses (honors, AP, IB, DE), (3) 40 community service hours documented in HAC (non-paid hours). To become an official member of NHS, students are invited to attend an induction ceremony. This year, Nease held their induction ceremony on September 17th to recognize all the students who have shown outstanding achievements both in and out of the classroom. The sponsor of our Nease National Honor Society chapter is Ms. Morrison. This year’s NHS president is Senior, Ashley Atilus! The ceremony was led by Ashley, and other members of the National Honor Society leadership team, and it ended with a reception of all the new students inducted. Members of NHS have the opportunity to provide services in many ways at Nease High School. Some of the NHS services include offering free tutoring opportunities every week for all students and hosting campus clean-ups! Overall, becoming a part of NHS is a great way for high school students to gain both service opportunities and leadership skills. With that being said, we would like to give a big congratulations to all the students inducted in the 2025-2026 National Honor Society chapter!
