Nease Club Spotlight
While Nease has many well-known clubs like DECA and National Honor Society, there are a few clubs that do not receive enough recognition around the community. Samsung Solve for Tomorrow is a national STEM competition club at Nease that tackles emerging challenges in society. Students work together to create an original and feasible solution that combats a local or statewide issue. Meetings take place every week after school in Mr. Lay’s room but most of the communication occurs via Schoology. During these meetings, students break into small groups to brainstorm prototype designs and receive input from engineering companies. “I love how a group of very bright and innovative students can come and put their minds together to create a real solution to a real problem that has impacted many people in St. Johns County and even more people in the state of Florida. We have a wonderful and dedicated group of students who are working very hard to create a positive impact in our community,” said Kendra Lay, President of the club.
