Nease Marching Band Performs at Daytona 500
On Sunday February 18th, 2024, Nease High School Marching Band and Color Guard will attend the annual Daytona 500 at the Daytona International Speedway. At this event, students will get to use the musical skills that they have been practicing all year long to impress the attendees of the Daytona 500. Approximately at 10 a.m. Nease Marching Band and Color Guard will do a 15-minute performance. Mr. Oyster, the Band teacher at Nease, has worked closely with the students to prepare for a great show. Nease Marching Band went to the Daytona 500 last year and had a successful show and trip, so they have decided to keep the tradition going into 2024. For those that do not know, the Daytona 500 is a speed car race in Daytona, Florida that attracts over 100,000 visitors to watch the 200-lap race around the 2-and-a-half-mile track, which adds up to 500 miles, hence the name. Filled with high-speed races, skilled drivers, and nail-biting finishes, the Daytona 500 is a must-see event if car racing is of one’s interest, plus the Nease Marching Band would value the support.
