Panthers, Meet Your New Athletic Director!
By: Hanna Virts
The role of an athletic director is not for the faint of heart. Their role consists of overseeing all elements of an athletic program like organizing events such as fundraisers, managing budgets, ordering equipment, hiring coaches and other sports personnel, and promoting the school’s sports. After a long and thorough process, Nease welcomed Chris Gallagher in early January to fulfill this role as the new athletic director. In this interview, Mr. Gallagher discusses why he chose Nease, future plans for the athletic program, and a piece of advice for every student athlete.
What is a fun fact about yourself?
I was born on Christmas Day!

A dream come true and a prayer answered!
Why did you choose Nease?
The history and tradition rich academic and athletic success that makes being a Nease Panther a privilege! When you say Nease, no matter where you are in the state of Florida everyone has respect!
What is your opinion of Nease so far?
The campus culture and environment is filled with school spirit and the staff, students, and community have been welcoming and friendly.
How do you plan to better our athletics?
Continue to embrace and enhance the school spirit and sportsmanship along with facility and equipment upgrades that will provide the best student athlete experience for our Nease Panthers. I want to continue to recognize our championship tradition and success with signage and facility enhancements that we will be proud of along with recognizing our weekly student athletes of the month and Scholar Athlete spotlights.
