Ramaswamy Drops Out of 2024 Presidential Race
American entrepreneur, Vivek Ramaswamy, suspended his presidential campaign Monday night after receiving 8% of the GOP caucus vote finishing fourth overall. Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis, and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley placed first, second, and third respectively. Shortly after the results were announced, Ramasamy called Trump to not only congratulate him on his victory, but also endorse him for the 2024 election. Additionally, Ramaswamy suggested that DeSantis and Haley should “follow suit” in withdrawing from the race. “There needs to be an America First candidate in this race,” Ramaswamy said. “Going forward, he will have my full endorsement for the presidency.” The businessman also mentioned that he would be open to being a vice presential candidate on the Trump ticket. “I’m not somebody who’s going to be able to speak anyone’s convictions but my own,” he said. “So, if that’s a role that I can perform from the vice presidency or any other one, I’m going to evaluate whatever is best for the future of this country. But my No. 1 commitment is to truth.”
