Shoeboxes of Love Collects Donations for the Homeless

The city of Jacksonville holds an annual rescue mission called Shoeboxes of Love. It is a collection drive to help the homeless in Jacksonville and its surrounding areas. The drive includes personal care products and hygiene care for men, women, and children. Requested items include but are not limited to blankets, toothbrushes, floss, shampoo, deodorant, bar soap, razors, tissues, socks, brushes, children’s toys, and books. Donors are asked to please wrap the items in a blanket and indicate if the box is for a man, woman, or child. Shoeboxes of Love runs from November 1st to December 17th, so there is plenty of time to donate and make a difference to those in need. News4JAX lists the places collecting donations, “City Rescue Mission, 426 S. McDuff Ave., 32254, Closets by Design, 3728 Philips Highway, Suite 301 & 304, 32207, McGowan’s Heating & Air Conditioning, 11320 Phillips Parkway Dr. E, 32256, WJXT Channel 4 studios, 4 Broadcast Place, 32207” The holidays are coming soon, and small donations can make a big difference during this time of year!
