Snow Deserts?
Saudi Arabia has been notoriously known for its hot weather and dry atmosphere. On November 2nd everything changed when a large and low-pressure system formed. Temperatures on average this month, are usually between 62-79 degrees Fahrenheit, which is a mild temperate climate and no viable way for snow. This low-pressure system brought rainfall, hailstorms, and snow. The storm produced between 0.43-0.48 inches, which may not seem like a lot for some but was astonishing to researchers and scientists around the world. This is the very first time it has snowed in a desert, which poses more concerns and attention to climate change and the impacts of global warming.
