Sprint To the Finish Line
As the 2024 presidential election comes to an end it’s time to vote. November 5th is election day. Americans who are unsure of who to vote for should review voter guides and ballots to educate themselves on each candidate’s policies and experience. Voters can bring personal notes, a voter’s guide, and sample ballots to the voting booth; however, most do not permit electronic devices, so paper guides should be used. It could take days before the media is ready to announce the winner of the election. This is due to the increase in mail-in ballots. During the 2020 election, 46% of votes were mail-in. Mail-in ballots take longer to count and verify. For the 2024 election, the Postal Service expects the same. There are seven states that hold the key to the Oval Office: Arizona, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia, Nevada, North Carolina, and Wisconsin. These states are called swing states and could go either way in the election. The polls in these states will close between 7:00 pm and 10:00 pm.
