St. Augustine Outlet Mall to be Redeveloped

The outlets are set to close on January 1st, 2022.  St. Johns County commissioner Henry Dead said, “the outlets weren’t what they used to be.” The outlets have 75 retail spaces but currently only have 35 tenants. Rather than demolishing the outlets, they plan to convert the space instead. They hope to turn the area into a mixed-used space calling it the St. Augustine Center. Along with a new movie theater, multifamily units, commercial space, and hotel rooms were also proposed to fill the space.
