The Increase of Prices and Generosity this Thanksgiving

For citizens across the United States, Thanksgiving could look much different than previous years. Prices for food, and travel in general, have seen a dramatic increase. Food prices have gone up 4% affecting many businesses and consumers. Supply on Thanksgiving meals, like turkey, is dwindling and businesses are struggling to keep meals in stock. With the holiday so close, people are frantically looking for meals they can buy to serve on time for Thanksgiving. This shortage has even affected St. Johns County and a local moving company is doing all it can to help. Mover for Meals is an organization that helps those that may not have the funds to have a Thanksgiving meal. They have served thousands of pounds of food to low-income families or anyone who is in need to the Thanksgiving meal. This year they a partnering with the organization Pie in the Sky to help deliver food to seniors who are homebound. With the uncertainties that have come with food shortages and increased prices, the moving company, Two Men and a Truck are trying to make everyone’s holiday a little brighter.
