The Murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO, Brian Thompson
On the morning of Wednesday, December 4, Brian Thompson was shot dead as he was just on his way to the annual investor conference held by UnitedHealthcare. The suspect, now in custody for murder of Brian Thompson is Luigi Mangione. He is likely going to face charges of murder and he will be without bail. Luigi Mangione is a highly credible man and graduate from the University of Pennsylvania. He is from a distinguished family who own many country clubs, health care facilities, and real estate companies. Many, including Mangione’s family, are shocked by the news that he is suddenly charged with murder and will most likely face a serious sentence in prison. No one knows for sure what the motivation behind this act could be, but a police official has said that Mangione had handwritten documents saying, “ill will toward corporate America” and “these parasites had it coming”. Which is ironic considering he is from a highly successful family that has boomed in business. Brian Thompson, on the other hand, is a very popular and praised healthcare CEO. He was well liked by his coworkers and has held a high position in the healthcare business for over 20 years. He was a top executive at one of the biggest corporations for American healthcare.
