Ugandan Government Officially Declares Ebola Outbreak

Dr. Matshidiso Moeti, World Health Organization Regional Director for Africa, said in a statement, “This is the first time in more than a decade that Uganda is recording the Ebola Sudan strain.” Moeti then stated, “We are working closely with the national health authorities to investigate the source of this outbreak.” Eight Ugandans suspected to have contracted the Ebola virus are currently being treated at a medical center, as the government prepares to combat this outbreak.
