Wildfire Now Contained in St Johns County

Florida Forest services says the fire started from a prescribed burn that went out of its containment lines. The fire managed to spread an estimated 683 acres before it was contained. The smoke and fire could be seen from nearby residents’ homes although due to the remote area of the fire no structures were in danger and no evacuations were set in place. While nobody was injured one firefighter was taken to the hospital as a precaution after the flames got close to his bulldozer.
