Teachers Rally in Tallahassee

Today teachers are taking buses to Florida’s capitol to rally for a higher pay. The “take on Tallahassee” rally ran by the Florida Education Association (FEA) has generated a lot of attention among teachers who “felt ignored and dismissed for too long”. The teachers planned to march on Tallahassee Sunday night or Monday morning. Furthermore, Florida law states that “organized work stoppages by public employees, such as teachers, for the purpose of trying to change their work conditions are not allowed”. Because of this, Pasco county has sent many non-teacher advocates instead. All in all, this whole situation raises extra attention to the big question: are teachers underpaid?
