Scooter Company scare

Electric scooters are a fun thing to ride when you are in downtown Jacksonville. On March 26, 2021, scooter companies issued a warning to riders downtown Jacksonville for riding dangerously.  “If we catch people who are a danger to other riders or not riding legally, we will go in and give people warnings and we also kick people off our platform as well,” said SPIN operations manager Edward Sun. The scooters are a way to have fun, but locals have given many complaints about riders creating dangerous situations on the roadways. One of the four scooter companies held a safety meeting to address some concerns. They decided to hold the meeting after one of the riders got arrested for running a red light and another rider got hit by a bus, but not seriously injured. Operations manager Edward Sun said that the company is going to hold a safety meeting every month from now on. He says that while he wants customers to have fun, his main concern is their safety.
