Electric cars are the transportation of the future. With the ability to have all the functions of a regular car, whilst protecting the environment from the harmful gases one would emit, we could potentially reduce 14% of the world’s total carbon emission. A local St. Augustine gate gas station is now one of the three locations in Northeast Florida to offer electric car charging. Drivers can now charge their car to near-full capacity in less than 30 minutes.
This is only the first step of the Florida Power and Light company. FPL is planning to install 1,000 charging ports at more than 100 locations across Florida, which will increase the charging port availability in Florida by 50%. Although we may not all be able to afford teslas, those who continue to purchase electric cars are making our environment a little bit greener.
