Accused teen killer Aiden Fucci will now be tried as an Adult
Aiden Fucci, age 14, will now be tried as an adult for the murder of Tristyn Bailey accord to the State Attorney R.J. Larizza announced on May 27th, 2021. Initially, Fucci was charged with second-degree murder and was held in custody at the Department of Juvenile justice facility locate in Daytona Beach since May 10, 2021, but later was transported to St. Johns County by the Sherriff’s Office. Larizza provided an update on the case Thursday afternoon stating that investigators collected large samples of evidence located in Fucci’s bedroom with Bailey’s DNA. Furthermore, Larizza said “Bailey was stabbed 114 times and a knife believed to belong to Fucci was found in a pond near where Bailey’s body was found. He continues in his statement that “It is a sad decision” but “it was clear to us…that it was not only appropriate to charge the defendant as an adult, but it was really the only choice that we could make” Fucci is the lone suspect in the murder of 13-year-old Tristyn Bailey’s. Bailey’s family released a statement regarding the circumstance and asks all, “as we move forward we will seek to keep Tristyn’s memory alive and the spirit of the community.”
