Beachside High School Academy Plans

Although the new high school being prepared for the 2022-2023 school year is miles away from an actual beach, it was named “Beachside High School”. Despite this minor controversy among St. Johns County inhabitants, the school is projected to bring a new academy never seen before in this school district-a veterinary academy.

According to principal Greg Bergamasco, this academy will provide students with real hands-on experience with animals. They will learn about grooming skills and conservation, all of which are unique to this county in Florida. The school is also planning on offering logistics and biomedical academies, with a focus on supply chain issues. A dedicated ceramics, pottery, and dance wing is also included in the plan for the new high school, as well as a “top-notch” art facility.

The school is located in the new development called “Beachwalk”, and it will significantly help with the overcrowding at Bartram Trail High School, which is currently about 1,000 students over capacity.
