Gas on the Rise

Andrew Quintana wrote in his report on gas prices in the Tampa Bay area, “The cost of gas has been on a sharp rise due to the coronavirus pandemic, supply shortages, and the war between Russia and Ukraine.” As of March 2022, the average gas price in Florida is $3.49/gallon. Nease student drivers realize the severity of this rise in prices. Senior, Kyndall Brown said, “It used to be much cheaper to fill my tank. I have a Jeep that requires a lot of gas. Hopefully, prices will go down soon.” There are still a few places around Jacksonville with affordable gas prices. For example, the Mobil located on St. John’s Bluff Rd is currently $3.99 per gallon. If you’re near A1A, you can stop at the Circle K to pay $4.16/per gallon. Although gas prices are high, searching your area for the lowest price can save you money in the long run.
