2022 Midterm Election Results as of November 9th
As of November 9th, 2022, Democrats hold 182 seats in the House with Republicans holding 206 seats. 218 seats must be held for control of the House, and 51 seats must be held for control of the Senate. In Florida, Republican incumbent Marco Rubio wins the seat in the Senate by over one million votes in comparison to Democratic candidate Val Demings. Republican incumbent Ron DeSantis wins Governor by over one million votes to the Democratic candidate Charlie Crist. A majority of Florida representatives in the U.S. House are Republican, with only 8 Democratic representatives out of 28 total. Florida State Congress is Republican-dominated, with 12 Democrats to 28 Republicans in the State Senate and 35 Democrats to 84 Republicans in the State House.
