Five Nights at Freddy’s Review

Five Nights at Freddy’s was a movie sensation. Everyone from everywhere ran to theaters to see this film. It was and still is streaming on Peacock for free if you have a subscription to the streaming service. The FNAF fandom was beyond excited for this live action adaptation of the sensational indie horror game. Let’s dive into this movie and see if it really lives up to the standards of the famous video game series.

Five Nights at Freddy’s let out in theaters October 27. It released on Peacock a day before the cinema release date, on October 26. This movie was a horror and supernatural themed adaptation. Although, critiques rated this movie relatively low on Rotten Tomatoes with a 29%, the general public rated it with a 94% with 4.4 out of 5 stars. The game is known for its terrifying animatronics and horrifying jump scares. The movie was rated pg-13 as the game was originally made for ages 11 and up. There were a lot of mixed reviews about this movie but overall, a lot of people had good things to say about it. The FNAF movie wasn’t overly gory and its occasional jump scares created an eerie feeling. The animatronics brought the movie to life as they were very convincing that they were real. The security guard, played as Josh Hutcherson, also did a great job incorporating the characters childhood trauma and building his emotions throughout the movie.

Overall, this movie generated an uproar not just in FNAF fans but in the general public. The cast did a very good job portraying the characters feelings and the fandom was happy with the adaptation. Fans have been waiting many years to see their favorite video game characters brought to life and it has finally happened. The iconic animatronics by the names of Freddy Fazbear, Golden Freddy, Chica, Cupcake, Bonnie, Spring Bonnie, Balloon Boy, and Foxy appeared in the film. The special effect team really put their all into making these animatronics realistic. With a budget of $20 million, this movie brought it in over $217 million dollars according to Rotten Tomatoes. From this statistic, it is obvious that this movie has made an astounding performance. I highly recommend this movie if you ever need something to watch in your free time.
