New Fire Stations in St. Johns County

St. Johns county is building new fire stations over the next six years. These stations will be located “in the Flagler Estates area in the southern part of the county, in the Silverleaf region, the Beachwalk/Twin Creeks area, and in the Longleaf Pine/Roberts Road area” (firstcoastnews.com). The fire station in the Flagler estates is expected to be completed by the end of 2025, which is the first one being built. The last one expected to be built is in the Longleaf Pines Region. This station is expected to be finished in 2030. This innovation was desperately needed due to the rapid increase of population in St. Johns County. According to usafacts.org, “The population of St. Johns County, Florida in 2022 was 306,841, 60.4% up from 191,268 who lived there in 2010” and the county will only continue to grow. With this large population it is difficult to keep response times low. With these new stations St. Johns will become a safer environment.
