Soccer in Full Swing
With fall sports coming to an end, the winter sports are in full swing including girls’ and boys’ soccer. The girls’ soccer team kicked off their season with an 8-0 Mercy Rule win on Monday, November 4th at Pedro Menendez. Goals were scored by senior Reese Heineman (2), Sophomore Ayla Payne, Senior Isabel Bostic, Senior Jessica Morley, Junior Grace Chaves, Senior Samara Hensley, and an own goal on the Menendez Falcons. With the girls’ soccer team making it to the regional finals, beating two highly ranked teams in west Florida, they have high hopes for their season and hope to bring home a trophy this year. The boys’ soccer team won districts last year and fell short to Chiles in the first round of their regional tournament. They are looking for revenge this year and plan to make it further. They are starting their season on Tuesday, November 5th at home against Bolles. Seniors Evan Mumford, Jack Lagrandeur, and Aiden Kennedy are looking forward to making it far in the season.
