Musical’s Coming to Jacksonville
Ever since the Wicked movie’s release in theatres, long-time Broadway enthusiasts and newly introduced fans have been expressing their love for this musically involved storytelling. With this visual art becoming more and more popular, there’s not a better time than now to experience the serenades of Broadway stars, live at the Jacksonville Theatre. In early 2025, travelling musical productions will be coming to our home city. Here are a few everyone is sure to enjoy.
Mamma Mia, one of the most successful musicals of all time, and the inspiration for award-winning films will be venturing into Jacksonville on its Broadway tour. Peter Pan, a musical about a boy who never grew up and his adventures in Neverland. Based upon the original Peter Pan play, this performance will feature exciting battles and original songs that will capture all audiences. The Broadway cast of Peter Pan will be flying over Jacksonville in February at the Moran Theatre.
Les Misérables, one of the most popular musicals in history, is having its second revival since its discontinuation in 2003. Since then, “Les Mis” has been adapted into a film. This award-winning show tells an admirable story about a French rebellion and human spirit. This coming April at Moran Theatre you can experience the chaos of this revolution through a new perspective.
MJ The Musical, a brand-new, stage-adapted story about one of the greatest entertainers and most well-known musicians of all time, Michael Jackson. With award winning cast and crew, this performance is sure to be an incredible exploration of this musical icon’s rise to fame. Experience his story in April at Moran Theatre.
Pretty Woman, a stage adaptation of the 90s romance film, will be setting out on its first national tour in 2025. This adaptation challenges the gender roles of the original movie by highlighting the lead character, Vivian, as an independent woman figure for 21st century audiences. This charming romance allured audiences on Broadway and will now delight audiences across North America. This experience will be available at Thrasher-Horn Center for the Arts on April 14.
