Sing Out Loud Festival
By Mia Courtier
The Sing Out Loud Festival in Saint Augustine, Florida is predicted to be an amazing event which will bring together diverse singers. The Live Wildly show on Saturday, September 20th and 21st, features performances by Hozier, Beabadoobee, Vance Joy, Sombr, and other popular performers. The festival also includes local bands, to introduce them to new fans and gain publicity. Outside of the music, the festival also offers a variety of local food vendors, giving people the ability to enjoy the music, eat food, socialize, and have an overall fun time.
The Sing Out Loud Festival began in September 2016 and is celebrating its 9th annual festival this year. It is rapidly becoming one of the most popular music festivals in the country, and organizers expect the festival to grow to be a mainline event within the next 5 years. Many students at Nease High School plan to attend. Keegan Taylor, a senior this year, said he was “super excited to go see Vance Joy, he’s one of my favorite artists and I really like Hozier and Sombr too. Hopefully I can see everything from my seats”.
The event was way more popular than expected and has already raised over $637,000 for local causes with St. Johns County Cultural Events. The Sing Out Loud festival donates most of their ticket sales to the Live Wildly Foundation; a group focused on conserving Florida’s natural landscapes and wildlife.
