Florida Governor Ron DeSantis issued an Executive Order Friday afternoon finally disbanding Common Core learning styles in Florida schools. Many are on edge about the potential impact regarding this sudden change. DeSantis assures that “It will be more geared toward knowledge than maybe just teaching to a test.” However, some parents believe abandoning the Common Core and any program like it a will lead to the abandoning high standards in Florida schools. Many Nease students agree and do not believe it will lead to positive change. Emily Kochanowski, a Nease Junior, weighs in: “I feel that if you get rid of the Common Core then you don’t have a set system on what the teachers will teach, and I think that may make it harder on the teachers if not Also, some parents that abandoning the Common Core and any program like it a will lead to the abandoning high standards in Florida schools.
