Community Clean-Up Opportunity!

Anyone who cares about keeping Jacksonville clean, beautiful, and healthy are being called upon for a volunteer opportunity. “News4Jax is partnering with Beaches Go Green to help clean up two of Jacksonville’s oldest neighborhoods.” From 9am-11am on Sunday, October 3rd all able bodied individuals can help pick up trash along the bank of the St. Johns River. The areas that will be prioritized are from Acostsa Bridge, south to Riverside Memorial Park, and West to Five Points. Pre Registration is not required and there will be a meet up in the parking lot of the YMCA (221 Riverside Avenue) before the cleaning starts. It is recommended that volunteers bring their own water, preferably in a reusable bottle or mug. Supplies like bags, gloves and buckets will be provided. Upon arrival make sure to look for the Beaches Go Green tent. Our environment could really use the help! Plus, there will be a prize to whoever can collect the largest amount of cigarette buds or the strangest item.
