Johnson & Johnson Vaccine Available Again

On April 13th the CDC and FDA made the recommendation to pause the Johnson and Johnson vaccine. This came after reviewing data involving reports of rare blood clots in six people. During this pause teams of scientists went through data to assess the risk of getting a blood clot. After multiple meetings to discuss these cases and the blood clots, on April 23rd the CDC and FDA lifted their recommendation to pause the Johnson and Johnson vaccine. They have determined and have confidence that the vaccine is safe and effective, the benefits outweigh the known and potential risks in those 18 and older, and that the chance of the blood clot is rare but the FDA and CDC will continue to investigate the risk.
