As the detrimental side effects of vaping become more apparent, Florida legislation passes a bill to regulate vaping purchases. The bill will raise the legal age to buy vaping products from 18 to 21. A study conducted by the CDC found that, “There have been 2,807 hospitalized cases of serious lung injury associated with vaping products, resulting in 68 deaths as of February 2020.” Representative Jackie Toledo hopes that the bill will help with the enforcement of tobacco and vaping laws. Although there’s some opposition to the bill, it will be presented to the Senate in the coming weeks.
