Sleep Out Challenge brings Awareness to Homeless People

For the second year in a row a sleep out has taken place in St. Augustine Florida. This act has given the homeless a chance to be heard and bring awareness to them. “More than 300 people in St Johns County are struggling with homelessness.” Explained by News4Jax. There’s only more to come, everyone can help by participating in volunteering at homeless shelters, donating money, and bringing awareness. Which is exactly what this movement did. Ten people joined this challenge on the campus of Alpha-Omega Miracle Home on Collins Avenue in St. Augustine. Paige Madancy knows exactly what it’s like to be homeless, “It was scary not knowing what was going to happen next,” she said. The sleep out raises money and helps the homeless in many ways.
