Pronoun Issue In St. Johns County

On February 9th, St. Johns County enacted a policy stating that teachers must notify parents before using a student’s requested name or gender pronouns. This comes as a result of the “Parents Bill of Rights”, signed into law by Gov. Ron DeSantis in July. Some city officials believe that the policy will cause more harm than good, as it could out children to their parents who may not be ready or accepting.
