Gymnastics Unlimited Gym Catches Fire

Early this Monday morning, on April 24, 2023, a gymnastics gym, Gymnastics Unlimited, caught on fire. There is no part of the gym remaining, except a bench that Lisa Music, the owner of the gym, built with her father who started the gym almost 40 years ago. The source of the fire is unknown, and the building burned for multiple hours. No one was harmed in the fire, but the site still remains a hazard. The gym was a known safe spot for kids of the Jacksonville community. Lisa Music is very saddened by the loss of the gym and hopes to be able to rebuild as soon as possible. News4JAX reports Lisa Music apologizing to the community over the loss of the gym, “To all of the children, I’m sorry. This is a safe haven. It has been for so many children for over 35 years. My father helped build this and make this legacy happen, and I’m just so sorry.” Music continues to stay positive and states, “We know through tragedy that great things can come, and trust, children, that we will be fighting to continue to make your dreams come true.” Furthermore, a GoFundMe has been set up to help with the rebuilding costs: https://www.gofundme.com/f/gymnastics-unlimited-disaster-relief?utm_campaign=p_cf+share-flow-1&utm_content=undefined&utm_medium=social&utm_source=instagram&utm_term=undefined
