Mask Mandate Lifted on Airplanes
As of April 18th, 2022, the mask mandate for airplanes has been lifted. Originally health officials extended the mask mandate on airplanes, trains, taxis and ride-share vehicles to May 3rd, but that is no longer in effect as “a federal judge in Florida on Monday ruled that the 14-month-old directive was unlawful.” Even though the mandate has been lifted, the CDC still recommends that people wear masks in indoor public transportation settings. The lifted mandate can also impact travel demand, as people may be more prompted to fly or may be more wary of flying.
