St. Johns County 1 Cent Sales Tax

On Tuesday, St. Johns County held a town hall meeting regarding the proposed 1 cent sales tax referendum which will be voted on during the November 8th general election. The county says that the extra money would be used for roads and infrastructure projects, public safety enhancements, local parks, and public libraries. Residents have questioned this decision and people are divided over their opinions, which is what the town halls are being held for. Early voting in St. Johns County starts on October 26th.
