Transgender Children Affected By Failed Bill
Recently, a Florida bill was proposed that would restrict transgender students from joining women’s sports teams. Even though the bill was not passed, it still affected transgender youth in Florida, making it hard for them to feel accepted. The pledge of allegiance states “…with liberty and justice for all.” According to the article, there was no justice for these children. These children are afraid to be children because according to the article, “At 7 years old, Elias has already been a target of bullying for being transgender.” Why must these people fight for their rights in a country where your rights are your most valuable possession? Although your biological sex can be an advantage or disadvantage, these people deserve the basic human rights they ask for. These children should not have to fight for basic things other children can do.
