Entertainment Review: Super Mario Bros The Movie

The new Super Mario Bros movie came out on April 5th 2023 It is about an hour and a half long and features popular actors like Jack Black (who plays Bowser), Chris Pratt (who plays Mario), and rising actress, Anya Taylor-Joy (who plays Princess Peach). From positive reviews from friends and a funny preview, I knew I had to go see it. I wasn’t disappointed at all. The soundtrack was a lot of fun and it definitely brought the iconic video game to life. It also was helpful in creating an interesting backstory for the brothers with their “plumber” life, and how they ended up in the Super Mario world in the first place. The conflict in the movie was very creative and definitely unexpected. But, what I was most impressed with was the humor, it was enjoyable for both adults and kids. I wasn’t expecting to find the jokes too funny as it is a film created for kids, but I was very pleased with how much I laughed.“It’s also a godsend for parents seeking family entertainment for the 5-year-old in all of us,” says Peter Travers, a top movie critic. It’s definitely a film I would see again just to experience the light-heartedness and also get a good laugh!
