Newly Released Horror Movie “Smile” Starts Off Strong

Alongside other recent releases, “Paramount’s Smile topped the North American charts with $22 million in ticket sales, according to studio estimates Sunday…” Additionally, Rotten Tomatoes gave the movie a 75% on the tomatometer and an 80% for the audience score. Smile was released on Friday, September 30, 2022 and it’s already top of the charts, which shows how popular the film has become in such a short period of time. News4JAX provides, “ ‘It’s remarkable, particularly when you take the budget into account. It’s just a terrific result and validated our thoughts about the movie as a whole,’ said Chris Aronson, Paramount’s president of domestic distribution.” The following list is of estimated ticket sales in theatres from Friday September 30th through Sunday, October 2nd: 1. Smile, $22 million, 2. Don’t Worry Darling, $7.3 million, 3. The Woman King, $7 million, 4. Bros, $4.8 million, 5. Avatar (re-release), $4.7 million.
